Every watch demands a different price, but you may want to check out some of the pricing on Breitling watches at Amazon.com. It almost seems like you could get a brand new watch for that cost. Perhaps the watch is a limited edition?

Hello! I'm about to invest in my first Breitling! I'm excited but would like to know if I'm getting a GOOD DEAL! Its an authorized dealer! The watch has diamonds around the bezel ONLY, no center dials & a black face. Stainless steel band.... PREOWNED..... ASKING $5500.00 + Tax WHAT DO YOU THINK??? Please help for my first purchase! Hi Mark,

Your best bet is going to be to take the watch to your local Breitling dealer. By seeing the watch in person, they will be able to more easily define the style and year and also will be able to order any parts you need for repair.

If they can't place it, then you may want to try antique dealers in your area. Look for one that specializes in antique watches.

According to the [www.breitling.com/en|Breitling website], there isn't a listed retailer in Australia. However, if you follow that link, it will also give you information for contacting the company and they may be able to provide additional information. Or, they may have opened a store near you. Hi, just wondering if you can give me any information on a Breitling watch that i inherited, the only number that i can find on it is B13048, it is self winding, face has Brietling for Bentley motors on it, face colour is off white & has 24 hr dial, day / night dial and shows inner workings. Also need to find out where i can purchase spacer & pins for band (in Australia) as it is missing a spacer & pin. Any information that you can give would be greatly appreciated. It is impossible for me to say if it is a replica or not. So many of the replicas these days closely resemble the real thing. There are a few things that can help you know if you have the real thing, though.

First, did you purchase it from an authorized retailer? That is probably the biggest indicator in most places.

If you paid an unbelievably low price, it is probably a fake, although there are acceptions.

You can take the watch to your local fine jeweler and he or she may be able to tell you if it is authentic or not based on his experience.

I recently purchased a SuperOcean automatic. it has a crystal back with a metal display piece inside that will spin when you shake the watch. The display piece has the Logo Breitling 1884, swiss and water resistant on it. Is this real or a replica?

A lot is going to depend upon the condition of the watch and whether or not it is a collector's item. Your best bet is to take the watch to a jeweler and get an estimate on its value.

That's a good question. There are a couple of things you should look for when deciding if a watch ir real or fake. A real Breitling will contain some of the following features:

The logo on the face will be embossed and not just printed on.
The date window should be large and actually overlap the minute and second markers a bit.
Many of the Breitling finishes are brushed.
The center pin that holds in place the minute and second hands should be a single color, usually silver.
