Seiko Watches for Men

From LoveToKnow Watches

In Tokyo, in 1881, a Japanese man by the name of Kintaro Hattori opened a small clock shop named Seikosha. This small effort laid the foundation for modern watch and clock making throughout Japan. By 1982, Hattori had established a small workforce of ten employees, and began to expand his business. By 1913, Seikosha had all but mastered clock technology. It was this time that Hattori began production on “Laurel”, the first wristwatch ever produced in Japan. The company continues upward and onward, changing it’s name to Seiko in 1924. Today, Seiko stands as one of the world’s premier watch makers.

Seiko offers five product lines to choose from. Two of these lines - Vivace and Rivoli - are geared towards women. Seiko also employs kinetic technology in which a tiny electric generator in the watch is powered by wrist movement, eliminating the need for any sort of conventional battery.

Watches

The following Seiko watch lines are designed for men. For women's Seiko watches, see our article Seiko Watches for a Lady.

Premier

The Premier line offers five different models, each coming in a variety of colors and styles. The newest and most impressive addition to the Premier line is the Kinetic Perpetual, which makes use of Seiko’s new kinetic power method. The Kinetic Perpetual boasts a calendar, which is guaranteed accurate until the year 2100, hence the name “Perpetual.” It also utilizes a new “sleep” feature. After the watch is not worn for an extended period of time, the watch will shut down. Once worn again (within four years), the watch will re-activate and adjust the time accordingly. The Premier line offers four more models, each crafted to display a classic, yet modernized style.

Arctura

The Arctura line showcases the heart of the kinetic movement, offering three unique models. The Kinetic, the Kinetic Chronograph, and the Kinetic Auto Relay all offer sleek, conventional designs with the lasting satisfaction that your timepiece will keep time for years to come. The Kinetic Chronograph, like the name implies, offers choreographing technology, which will chronograph to 1/5 of a second for up to 45 minutes. Perfect for keeping your heart rate in check. The Kinetic Auto Relay, like the Kinetic Perpetual, will power down after 72 hours of non-use. Once used again, it will re-activate and bring you back to the right time.

Sportura

Seiko’s Sportura line sports terrific timepieces for the avid sports fan. Try saying that ten times fast. The Sportura line offers four different models, all built to last in the most hectic setting - behind the driver’s wheel. Sportura watches offer the motor sport contender an easy-to-read dial layout with non-reflective glass, ensuring you a safe glance at your watch whenever the situation arises. All Sportura watches offer a chronograph feature, to help you keep track of those lap times. To top it off, all Sportura watches boast water resistance and solid steel backs.
