About Marc Ecko
Marc Ecko watches started in a unique and inspiring way. In the mid-1980s, Mark Ecko was still in high school, but at night, he dreamed up clothing designs inspired by graffiti, the skateboarding culture, and a fresh hip-hop perspective. He set up his first studio in his parents' garage in New Jersey. There, he created a variety of unique T-shirts using an airbrush and his custom designs. Over the next few years, he built a steady and loyal base of customers. At the age of 20, using six T-shirts and a can of spray paint, he debuted his own men's apparel line out of a small apartment at Rutgers University. Ecko Unlimited was born.
Since that time, the company has grown to include accessories as well as clothing and is known for an urban, contemporary style. Marc Ecko is known for taking a firm stance on social issues. He works with underprivileged youth and is an advocate for preventing the extinction of the rhinoceros. In fact, the rhinoceros is a familiar Ecko logo that can be found on his designer watches.
Mark Ecko Enterprises claimed sales of $1.2 billion last year. The company also runs around 38 retail stores, which are called Ecko Unlimited. The company plans to expand and open 150 new retail outlets by 2009.

Marc Ecko watches are created in collaboration with Callanen International, which is a subsidiary of the Timex Corporation. The watches and timepieces feature a modern, urban design. In the spring of 2002, Ecko launched the Rhino Unlimited and Rhino Red watches for men and women.
